Reporter: According to reports, the first Army-wide Military Translation Challenge held its finals recently at the School of Foreign Languages, National University of Defense Technology. Please ask the spokesperson to further introduce the situation of this challenge.

Wu Qian: On August 25, the finals of the first Military Translation Challenge were held at the School of Foreign Languages, National University of Defense Technology. The competition aims to promote the construction of national defense language capabilities, tap high-quality military foreign language talents, and better serve war preparations. The challenge adheres to military characteristics, on-the-job training, and promotion of training through competition. With the theme of "hardening one's voice and outsmarting the future," it has built an operation and management system in which "the competition questions come from the front line, the competition is open to the entire army, and the results serve the troops."

Translation is not only a language ability, but also a kind of combat effectiveness. This event promoted the joint education of colleges and troops, precise docking of competition venues and battlefields, and effective integration of theory and practice, and played a positive role in building the national defense language capabilities of all military troops and colleges.
